The Appeal
The Boxster S is to to the enduring appeal of Porsche’s mid-engined marvel. It hiked power to 250bhp which gave enthusiasts what they wanted: the performance to match the chassis’ abilities.
This car represents a trend amongst early 986 owners to begin to invest and improve these cars as interest in them grows. It received a recent full respray and wheel refurbishment. As the photos show, it looks great, with the grey metallic paintwork working well with the classic decals and anodised five-spoke wheels.
The vendor acquired the car in 2023 to join his small collection. He intended to keep it and is only selling due to lack of storage. The previous keeper was a qualified mechanic who continued to maintain the car. The service history shows regular attention and a large raft of bills. Highlights include a gearbox rebuild in 2012, IMS bearing replaced in 2021 using parts from Design 911 and a full service in early 2025. The MOT runs to July 2026.
This well-specified S has the recent investment and improvements to make it stand out. Any Boxster is a treat but this one looks rather special.
