The Appeal

When BMW decided to shoehorn their 325hp inline-six S54 engine into the Z3 Roadster, a very good thing was born. To all intents and purposes this is a mini muscle car, offering the classic ‘M Division’ six-cylinder soundtrack with the tactility and engagement of rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission – plus the added bonus of the world’s largest sunroof.

This handsome example is finished in classic black-over-black and presents very nicely indeed, with a good service record and fine specification. It would be the perfect way to enjoy the summer sunshine next year…

Black Nappa leather upholstery is in very fine condition for the age, with some creasing to the driver’s seat
Black carpets and ‘M’ branded floor mats look to be in good condition

The bodywork, trim and badging appears to be in good order, with no corrosion or issues apparent
Electrically operated, black fabric roof shows very nicely, with no damage or UV fading that we could see
Factory fitted tinted glass
Headlamp washers
Original five-spoke, 17-inch Style 40 “Starfish” alloy wheels are finished in dark silver and look in good overall condition, with just a couple of minor blemishes
Tyres are a matched set of Bridgestone Potenzas and appear to be in fine fettle
Underneath the car presents very well indeed, with no signs of damage or corrosion that we could see

The Mechanics

3,246cc inline-six ‘S54’ engine, delivering 325hp to the rear wheels
The engine bay looks nice and clean, with no evidence of leaks we could discern
We’re informed that the con-rod bearings have recently been replaced

Summary
