The Appeal
The XKR was Jaguar’s very civilised response to the German super coupes and convertibles, one that was smoother and more comfortable but without sacrificing performance, because under the E-Type-infused bonnet was a 4L 400bhp supercharged V8.
This 2002 XKR is the sort of example you want to find. The trick when buying a car like this is to check the condition and servicing, which is where this car scores. The history file is simply massive, showing a run of regular servicing and related work throughout its life. The list of recent work is extensive and, alongside annual servicing, includes new cam belt, water pump, gearbox sump and service and brake work. It is perhaps no surprise when you leaf through the many history photos that the car carries a clean MOT to April 2027.
The popular silver metallic paintwork is well kept, and the car checks out well in the usual X100 areas - there are no structural advisories on the MOT. The black leather interior is in good order, and there is a set of 20in Fittipaldi alloys to dial up the visual drama. A very tidy example.
