The Appeal

The R230 generation of Mercedes-Benz’ illustrious SL was, in the world of Stuttgart’s big convertibles, something of a gamechanger. No longer a mere drop top, its clever folding roof meant this was a coupe and convertible - a true ‘car for all seasons.’

While much of the range was packed with rumbling V8s, canny buyers opted for this car, the SL350. Its 250bhp 3.7L V6 provided decent urge but much better economy than the larger-engined cars, making this model perfect for daily use or holiday tours.

Classically finished in Obsidian Black metallic with an Anthracite leather interior, this 2003 SL350 is a very low mileage example - less than 41,000 miles - and has had just five keepers in its 22 years. The current one acquired it a few years ago and has looked after it well. Recent work has included a full service including plugs plus attention to the brakes and suspension.

The car comes to market in great condition, helped by a recent machine polish and ceramic coat. Inside, the well-kept interior features a modern head unit - you’d hardly know, though, as it integrates well with the cabin.

With advisory-free MOT to July 2025, this head-turner is ready for summer.
