The Appeal
If you like your classic motoring with a healthy dose of ‘effortless’ then you want a R230 Mercedes SL. These handsome cars, with their clever folding hard tops, are all about making the A to B as easy as possible, and all with that sense of reward that only comes with a Mercedes badge.
This SL500 is classically finished in Brilliant Silver with black leather, the exterior offset by some smart five-spoke AMG 18in alloys and a desirable panoramic roof. As an early car it has the 5L M113 V8 that is good for over 300bhp.
The vendor tells us that the car has been in the same family for 20 years, during which time it has been regularly serviced and always garaged. It comes to market with a recent service in February 2024 that included fitting new tyres. The MOT runs to June 2026 with no advisories and confirms the low mileage for the year.
