The Mini is held rather dearly by enthusiasts all across the globe, dating back to 1959, with the Morris Mini-Minor. After incredible commercial success and a vast array of models, the brand would later be acquired by BMW, who took to launching an exciting new wave of Mini vehicles.
Included within this first generation of new Minis, was the R52 Mini Cooper S, designated as the convertible variant of the new sport model. This R52 Cooper S shares the iconic styling cues we all love, an electronic folding roof, and of course, the supercharged 4-cylinder powertrain.

This particular R52 also boasts the incredibly desirable John Cooper Works tuning pack, which boosts the already thrilling platform to a whopping 210 bhp. As part of the kit, you’re treated to the likes of an upgraded airbox, reduced supercharger pulley, an ECU tune, and a sublime exhaust note through a JCW cat-back exhaust.
In addition to hosting an array of JCW upgrades, this Hyper Blue example also features the “Chilli” pack, which was an optional extra at the time. This presents you with a full leather interior, xenon headlights, satellite navigation, and more.
Well preserved with only a small number of signs of age, this presents a superb opportunity to enjoy a very well-specced example of the convertible Cooper S

The Interior
- Full leather interior, presented in excellent condition, with slight signs of wear to the seats, and minor blemishes to note

- Features the multi-function 3-spoke leather steering wheel, and leather shift knob, both of which show only minor blemishes

- Overall, the interior presents itself rather well indeed, with only the expected driver’s seat bolster wear and slight signs of use to note. The cabin boasts plenty of desirable features and stands rather highly specced when compared to some other examples
The Exterior
- Hyper Blue metallic paintwork, presented in great condition for the age of the vehicle, with minor blemishes, a slight crack to the front bumper and signs of the typical corrosion to the boot lid
- Navy soft top fabric, showing excellent care, with no known leaks or tears
- 17” 8-spoke alloy wheels, presented in excellent condition with only the pictured minor blemishes to show. The wheels come wrapped in pairings of Pirelli, and Gowind run-flat tyres with tread to enjoy
- Believed to feature the original JCW badges, which now show signs of age as expected
- Fitted with chrome wing mirrors, with slight scuffing to note
