The Appeal
Volvo pulled off quite the marketing masterstroke in the mid 1990’s by introducing a special, performance orientated limited edition of their boxy 850 saloon and estate. That car was the 850 T-5R and so popular was it, that Volvo followed it with a full production model – the 850-R. The company then doubled down on this success by campaigning the estate version in the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC). This bold move helped cement Volvo’s reputation for making some pretty sporty estate cars.
This example, the V70R, is the follow up car to the 850-R and arrived in 2003 with 300bhp of five-cylinder turbo power and four-wheel drive. This example is in a fine overall condition with sensible mileage and oodles of originality and charm.2005_Volvo_V70R-031.jpg2.22 MB

The 300bhp, five-cylinder powerhouse of an engine and adaptive suspension will surprise and delight when the backroads beckon. Few other cars can do so much so well.
This example of the powerful V70R estate is hard to fault. It looks great with its gold Team Dynamics alloy wheels and black metallic livery. It has covered a sensible mileage for its age and the mechanicals have clearly been well cared for. It boasts a nicely presented, well equipped and very comfortable interior. It’s definitely a car for all seasons that will represent excellent value for money for its lucky new owner.
