The Appeal
The CLS is Mercedes’ considerably more stylish take on the E Class and, when partnered with AMG’s snarling 6.2 litre V8, makes for an entertaining driver’s car when you want it and a relaxing four seater when you don’t.
This well-specified example is presented in a classy hue and has been in enthusiasts’ hands for the last five years. It has been thoroughly pampered and is in fabulous condition. If you’re looking for a thundering V8 in a four door coupe, we don’t think you’ll find better than this one.

The Interior

Opening the frameless double-glazed door, you’re presented with a CLS light grey interior that is extremely well preserved. The driver’s seat shows some slight patina to the base but otherwise it’s all absolutely pristine with unmarked upholstery, clean carpets and a clean and secure headlining.
The head unit has been upgraded to an Apple Carplay/ Android Auto compatible unit, although the original is included for completeness. All of the extensive kit list is said to be fully functioning, including the sunroof which adds some additional airiness to the cabin.
The boot is also in immaculate condition and the full Mercedes tool kit is present and correct. In all, the interior wants for nothing.

This subtle and attractive hue suits the car well and, when paired with recently refurbished AMG wheels, makes for a very attractive package. The seller describes the paintwork as being in exceptional condition, with only a few microscopic stone chips on the front which one would expect at this age and mileage.
The wheels were refreshed fewer than 200 miles ago and do show a little light corrosion but the tyres on the front are new and on the rear just 3 months old. All are Continentals.
The underside is also said to be in excellent condition and not showing any signs of damage or corrosion. Overall, it’s a stunning looking car in great condition.
The Mechanics

Under the bonnet, the engine bay is very clean and tidy and the lurking monster that is the 6.2 litre AMG V8 fires without hesitation when the start button on top of the gearstick is pressed. The seller reports that the car accelerates with the kind of gusto for which AMGs are rightly renowned, stops well and changes gear smoothly.
The soundtrack is reported to be thunderous when pressing on but suitably muted when cruising and the air suspension helps the ride to strike the appropriate balance between comfort and performance. There are no untoward noises or leaks; mechanically, it’s ready to go.

A stunning example of the CLS range topper which has been very well cared for and will surely keep its next owner very happy for many years and miles to come.
