The Appeal

Sometimes it is very easy to spot an enthusiast-owned car. This 2006 ST220 is a textbook example. The giveaways are highly polished paintwork, lots of neat little details like wind deflectors, detailed engine bay, bespoke spare wheel cover and retrimmed gear gaiter and wheel.

That is all before you get to more serious additions like uprated brakes, bespoke aluminium radiator and those smart 19in Alutec alloys with their quality Michelin rubber.

Naturally, this very low mileage ST220 - under 59,000 miles - has been well looked after, the receipts and invoices filling a large box folder. That is the work of its three keepers, the current and previous ones within the same family. The seller has had the car since 2013 and the current condition is a testament to his considerable enthusiasm for the car.

It is very rare to find a ST220 as good as this one. And it is a great find because this is widely acknowledged as one of the best Fast Fords built. There’s a grunty 220bhp 3L V6 that is allied to one of the best FWD chassis of its era.

Regularly serviced and sympathetically improved by its current keeper and with advisory-free MOT to July, this is a proper show star and a real treat for the buyer.
