The Appeal
This car represents a double celebration. For two years from 2007 a new California Special was built to replicate the original ‘69 Cali Special created especially for dealers of the state’s southern region. But this car is doubly significant because it is a 2009 ‘45th Anniversary’ model.
Each modern California Special was based on the 4.6L V8 car and got special paint options and trim features. Highlights include revised front and rear bumpers, 18in polished and chromed alloys, side scoops and optional vinyl stripes which the owner has, and will be including in the sale. Just 7,427 were sold, making these rare and elevated models in the modern Mustang range.
This car spent its life on the salt-free roads of Japan until 2024 when it arrived here. Whilst overseas it benefitted from Japan’s renowned high maintenance standards, with the vendor reporting full service history with eight visits during its time there.
Since arriving in the UK it has been health checked and serviced by Ford Trust, including minor repairs to the front wishbones.
Finished in attractive Performance White with Premium Black leather interior, this is a very well kept low mileage car that wears its 16 years exceptionally lightly. It is said to run and drive very well, without fault and with that lovely characterful V8 burble.
The car comes to market with that recent service work and MOT to June 2025 with no advisories.
