Billed as Audi’s answer to the BMW M3, the Audi RS5 was offered as either a coupe or a convertible and was an incredibly stylish car.
But the big news was under the bonnet, where power was supplied via the same 4.2-litre V8 as in the R8 supercar. That means 450bhp of four-wheel-drive power, giving a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155mph.
It was – and still is – a sensational piece of kit.
This one has covered a genuine mileage of less than 43,000 and the vendor has used it only as a weekend motor, as he uses a van for work during the week.
Like all Audi interiors, the RS5 oozes sophistication, but with the RS extras it also adds a dash of sportiness, with a flat-bottom steering wheel, discreet RS badges and dials and figure-hugging sports seats that offer incredible comfort and support.
As you’d expect from a low mileage car of relatively recent vintage it’s all in fine order with no real signs of wear or problems.

This is a fine-looking car with the roof up or down, and you can switch it form one configuration to the other within seconds, and at the flick of a switch.
The car is presented in great condition. There’s no accident history, the panels are all straight and true and other than some very tiny stone chips the paint is pretty much flawless.
It rides on smart 10-spoke 19-inch alloys, equipped with good quality Michelin tyres, and these are free of any marks or scuffs.
The engine is core to this car’s appeal – and what a unit it is.
The 450bhp V8 delivers scintillating performance and plenty of low-down torque, yet it is also supremely smooth, while the adaptive seven-speed automatic transmission makes it a doddle to drive around town and a real thrill on the open road.
