A marvellous blend of voluptuous cream leather and burl walnut trim coats nearly every surface within sight. There’s no question the cabin of the XJ-S is a wonderful place to be and would be the perfect setting for a grand tour.
Sporting a 2+2 layout, the Jag has excellent sculpted seating both front and rear. Adorned in cream leather of an incredibly high quality, the seats present in good condition, with just some minor wear and patina presenting itself.
The rear seats are noticeably lacking in any of this wear and damage, and look as if they have seen incredibly limited usage throughout their lifetime. At the sides, we find two well trimmed door panels, draped in more of the exquisite cream and beige leather, with small lashings of walnut trim, these present in great order.

The absolute feature piece of the XK’s interior, must be the wonderful dash piece. An elegant combination of leather and yet more burl walnut, the dashboard is of an truly high quality, the wood veneer looks to of a great standard, presenting with an excellent shine.
The same can be said for the contrasting black leather which mirrors the high quality seen throughout the rest of the interior upholstery. Front and centre sits a series of clock gauges and switchgear, all in excellent order.

One of the last “proper” Jags. A phrase often used to refer to the marvellous XJ-S, and so much of that comes down to its exterior styling.

Presenting in a rather fine bluish grey hue, the XJ-S is one of great aesthetic quality.
The paintwork is of a good standard and exhibits a quality shine, providing very minimal signs of age and wear. Good clean chrome trim takes precedence over much of the exterior to really give the Jag that wonderful level of opulence that one can only get from the marque.

Front and rear sit two good quality bumpers, with the front well appointed with an aerodynamic lower valance and lower mounted fog lights.
At ground level we find four great snowflake style Jaguar alloy wheels, with black finished centres and a metal finish rim, these present wonderfully and look impeccable on the XJ-S.

The beating heart of the XJ-S comes in the form of a brilliant Jaguar developed 3.6 litre straight 6 engine.
Nestled under the front hinged bonnet the 3.6 in this particular example appears in good order, having passed its MOT just a matter of months ago and reported to have been on the road very recently.

Unfortunately, at present the XJ-S in question is not a running example. With a specialist mechanic having diagnosed a faulty ignition coil as the suspected cause of the Jag not running, which we have been informed is a rather simple and potentially inexpensive fix.
Prospective buyers should also note that at present the passenger side door is stuck shut.
Summary
If you’re going to do a mile munching road trip across the continent, then you may as well do it in style, and on that front, the XJ-S might be the finest tool for the job.
Pairing that wonderful timeless design with solid mechanicals and a true quality, luxurious cabin, the XJ-S is an excellent safe bet for a long distance cruiser, but one that is equally at home on a more rewarding B Road or pottering around a more urban environment.
