MODEL HISTORY

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013 Jaguar unveiled a mind blowing concept car in the vein of a modern day Jaguar D-Type. Interest was so strong that the green light was given to go ahead and build a limited run of just 250 to be built by Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Vehicle Operations. Fast forward to Classic Le Mans 2014 and the production version of the new Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is launched, demonstrated next to the first D-Type ever built.

Based on the F-Type R Roadster, the Project 7 has a unique open two-seater body with an aerodynamic hump behind the drivers head, á la D-Type. Power comes from the well proven 5 litre Supercharged V8, producing 567bhp in the P7 and with a weight reduction of 45kg over the standard Roadster, means for a hair raising 0-60mph dash in 3. 8 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 186mph. The suspension components and set up are unique to the Project 7 and if anyone who has experienced a standard F-Type R, thinks it is fast and very loud, wait until you have tried a Project 7. The exhaust note and crackle on the overrun is bordering on offensive, but for those who don’t embrace the inner boy racer, there is a button one can press to make things a tad more civilized.

Of the 250 examples built, just 80 were UK RHD examples. Since the production of the Project 7 the SVO division has gone on to create not only the equally rare Project 8 but is responsible for the Range Rover Sport SVR and Jagaur SVR products, with the Special Vehicle Operations badge becoming both the AMG and Maybach of the JLR brand.

THIS MOTOR CAR

The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 for sale at The Classic Motor Hub was first registered in March 2016. Finished in British Racing Green with a Black interior finished with Silver stitching, this impeccable P7 has had just one previous owner and has covered just 1, 400 miles from new. Accompanied by the ‘Bimini’ roof and bag in the boot, this stunning and frankly outrageous supercar is available for immediate inspection at The Classic Motor Hub.
