A lovely 1983 Ford Escort XR3i MK3 which has had just 4 owners in its 37 years and has covered 83, 528 miles since new. Finished in Diamond White, it really does look superb! Over the last few years it has only been used for attending classic car shows and has covered very little mileage.
This lovely XR3i has been known to the XR Owners Club for a number of years and has been owned by two members of the club. It has also been on display at various shows over the last few years and has always been very well received. The Diamond White paint work looks lovely across all panels and the car sits very well. It is free from any dents, damage or scuffs and all bumper corners are excellent. The factory fitted tinted glass is in great order, along with all rubbers and weather strips. The factory fitted tilt and slide sunroof is smooth in operation... the sunroof glass has got the usual slight water marks. Door shuts and apertures are nice and clean and under the wheel arches are lovely and clean. The correct rubber rear spoiler is nice and straight and free from damage. Decals are nice and bright and un-faded. This is a lovely example that would look great at any Classic Ford show.
Internally is again excellent. The seats are still nice and tight and free from any excessive wear. The deep pile carpet is nice and clean throughout and the black perforated head lining is lovely and tight. Door cards and rear parcel shelf are nice and straight and free from any after market speakers. The correct soft touch dashboard does have a couple of cracks around the vents and the binnacle, but it does remain nice and straight and free from distortion. A Ford radio cassette player is in place and in working order.
The correct Clover Leaf alloy wheels are in very good condition and are all correctly date stamped as 1983. Matching tyres all round with good amounts of tread remaining.
Under the bonnet presents well and is nice and dry. A new battery tray has been fitted in the past and has been done to a good standard. Out on the road the car drives very well and has that lovely rasp to the exhaust. The gearbox is smooth and precise.
This lovely example is complete with current V5 registration document, owners hand book pack, 2 keys, historic mot certificates and bills/ receipts for works and service works carried out over the years. A new MOT will be provided upon sale.
