motodrome offer for sale this rare and charming 1953 Volvo PV 444E.
PV’s are often used for historic rallying or as hot rods/ custom cars, but this one appears to us to be standard and unmolested, and, we think, is one of the earliest known in the UK – certainly with it’s split rear window and split windscreen you’re unlikely to see another one while out for a jaunt, even if you took it back to it’s Swedish homeland – they were never imported to the UK when new.
This one was imported into the UK in 2014.
Odometer reading 70000km
It’s very useable and glides down the road very well – the 1410cc engine runs like a sewing machine, and everyone I meet seems to love the styling.
NB please note: in my driving video I incorrectly stated it still had it's original 3-speed gearbox. I was wrong - it actually has the 4-speed gearbox from a later PV544.
