An exceptional 1962 Popular 100E that has covered a warranted 15, 000 miles from new, is a former concourse winner and benefits from a number of very desirable contemporary performance upgrades from the 1960’s.
The car is fitted with the extremely rare Alexander Performance Kit consisting of an Aquaplane cylinder head and modified induction manifold with twin SU carburettors. This additional power is mated to a Murray mechanical overdrive unit that gives a 22. 8% step-up in all 3 forward gears that allowed the ‘Pop’ to keep up with most other cars back in the 1960’s.
The body and structure of the car are absolutely rust free. The interior is original except for the conversion to electric windscreen wipers and the blue upholstery and carpets look like new. The history folder has the original buff log book, MOT’s & invoices going back to the 1970’s and concourse scoring sheets from when the car was in competition.
