The Appeal
This R100GS is the next best thing to actually riding the Paris Dakar because it is a very carefully detailed replica of those illustrious BMWs. The work was commissioned in 2016 by the vendor and completed by Bavarian Adventure Motorcycle World, a well-regarded specialist in this area. It has covered less than 100 miles in the intervening 9 years.
The attention to detail and specification are both impressive and extensive. We’ve included full details from BAMW in the photos for you to pore over. The highlights include a fully rebuilt and upgraded 1,070cc engine with Siebenrock kit that has been dyno tested at 88hp - a 49% hike in the standard bike’s output. Elsewhere, there are enticing details like the correct 32L (8.4-gallon) fuel tank that has been signed by Dakar winner Gaston Rahier.
Despite largely being part of static collections since completion, the maintenance shows regular attention, including a new starter motor. The last MOT was in July 2024 and showed no advisories.
The vendor describes the bike as ‘mint’ and ‘as new’, and leafing through the photos, we’d have to agree.

The vendor says:
“75.54 at the rear wheel. This equates to 88hp at the Flywheel. The R100GS when new, produced 60bhp at the flywheel. This equates to approximately 49% increase in useable power. The engine shows an almost constant 45-degree to convex power curve, through the range, which is perfect for best road use. This compares to a Moore Speed 'Stage 3'
tuning kit of a 31% increase in power - 64bhp at the back wheel. 90 BHP, from a usable, hot, road use engine, was the target, without the need for strange-looking air cleaners fitted and with Bing carbs, to maintain the original look.”
