This beautiful S2 Alfa Romeo Spider was supplied new to the USA in 1980. It was then imported to the UK in the early 2000s, where she was bought by Luis de Jesus, a Portuguese engineer who lives in Cork, Ireland, and restores Alfas. de Jesus has won various awards for his work.
Luis restored and upgraded it including Alfaholics Kit B fast road suspension, stainless exhaust, wider wheels and more. This Bella feels faster to drive than any other 2000 Spider I have driven. Luis then sold her to his neighbour in 2015. James had Luis looking after her and got the her resprayed in 2016. The colour is now Pepper White from the Mini catalogue. The most recent owner went over to Cork to buy her and drove her back to England in early 2017 and registered her in the UK
Since arriving back in the UK, she has been looked after by Classic Alfa specialists T+B Classics and there is a nice paper trail which is with car. They restored the interior – new door cards, took out the electric windows and replaced with manual winders, new centre console, beautiful custom gear lever gaitor. Brakes have been overhauled – rebuilt at the back and new callipers at the front, braided hoses etc. . All the parts have come from Alfaholics, Classic Alfa or Highwood Alfa with invoices still in the folder.
This wonderful car is a pleasure to drive, and easy too! She receives a lot of attention on the road and rightly so.
