When it comes to 944s, they don’t come any better than the 944 Turbo. And, this high-spec 1990 model in Guards Red with cream leather is a superb example of the ever popular marque.
Later Turbo model cars (post 1989) such as this featured all of the same spec as the earlier Turbo S badged cars – including more powerful engines, limited slip differential, bigger anti-roll bars, Fuchs ‘Club Sport’ forged wheels, stronger gearbox etc.
The result of which is a faster, sharper driving experience than the non-turbo and early Turbo models. Production performance figures at the time were a quoted 0-60 in 5. 5secs and a top speed of 162mph, making it the fastest production 4-cylinder car of its day.
That performance hasn’t been lost with time, either. This car performs exceptionally well and is a lot more focussed than you might expect.
This car has covered 95k miles over its lifetime and has been maintained with no expense spared. A full repaint has been carried out (with any rust treated and repaired), upgraded suspension fitted, wheels refurbished and brake callipers rebuilt. A fresh timing belt service has just been carried out, also.
The car is Irish registered and turned 30 years old in April 2020 so is eligible for cheap classic tax.
