The most powerful BMW Alpina B3 of all time is driven by the latest generation straight-six 3. 0 litre engine with Bi-Turbo charging. With an output of 340 kW (462 hp) the engine delivers impressive driving performance. This is the only Alpina ever to use a bona fide BMW M division engine (the S58 3. 0 twin-turbo straight six to be exact). The maximum torque of 700 Nm is already available from 2, 500 rpm onwards which in combination with the smooth 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission provides plenty of punch for effortless mid-range acceleration.
Described by Autocar as the ‘only car you would ever need’, the engine sends its power to all four wheels via a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, developed collaboratively with the German transmission manufacturer ZF. The B3’s rear axle also features an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, which offers improved cornering ability and traction. Like the old B3 saloon, the new Alpina B3 Touring features a range of chassis revisions. Upgrades include a wider track, a longer wheelbase, Pirelli P Zero tyres, stiffer Eibach springs, adaptive dampers, larger-diameter disc brakes and four-piston calipers. Alpina also offers a set of lightweight, drilled and vented high-performance brakes as an optional extra.
Supplied new in July 2021, this Alpina B3 Touring benefits from the balance of its manufacturer’s warranty and is unlikely to be matched anywhere for specification or condition.
