This rare Renault 5 Alpine Turbo has recently joined us from France. It’s an early Alpine Turbo (badged as the Gordini Turbo in the UK) first registered in 1983 and currently in original left-hand drive configuration and sitting on the correct alloy wheels for this model.
In overall good condition this R5 has, over the last few years, been treated to a reconditioning of the turbo and we believe a top-end engine rebuild including new inlet and exhaust valves, new valve stems and a new cylinder head gasket. The paperwork accompanying the car also shows receipts for new front and rear Gaz shock absorbers, Goodridge brake hoses, exhaust and other assorted enhancements.
The interior is nicely kitted out in black…the door cards are missing a couple of bits of trim and the new owner may wish to spruce things up a little inside. But otherwise everything is in decent condition with no rips in the seats and a new headlining.
A quality car which has benefitted from a range of considered performance enhancements over recent years and which offers the new owner immediate enjoyment as well as scope for further improvement if desired.
