1977 Citroën 2CV NAMCO Pony

Highlights

  • Rare "Greek Mehari" - a Citroën NAMCO Pony
  • One of only 30,000 units sold worldwide
  • Recently undergone partial restoration
  • Only two registered keepers from the new with original purchase paperwork available
  • Unusual specification with front disc brakes

The Appeal

The NAMCO Pony was one of the more obscure and fascinating offshoots of Citroën's iconic 2CV platform. Produced under licence by Greek manufacturer NAMCO from 1973 to 1983, these rugged utility vehicles combined the mechanical simplicity of the 2CV with a more robust bodywork derived from the Citroën Acadiane.

This 1977 example has been partially restored while maintaining its authentic character, having spent much of its life with its first owner, a retired sailor, before being acquired by the current owner. With its distinctive appearance, practical design, and the rarity factor of being one of only 30,000 ever produced, this NAMCO Pony offers a truly unique opportunity for collectors of unusual Citroën variants.
