Buying a used sports car can be a tricky affair, particularly when you are looking at a mid-engined Porsche Boxster.
There’s so much of the mechanicals hidden away out of sight that it can feel like a leap of faith. Well, this could be one car that takes the guesswork out of buying a Boxster because there is oodles of history available with it.
There are invoices here that will demonstrate just how much care has been taken to maintain this lovely little gem. Apart from regular servicing, evidence is easily found for the replacement of the standard IMS (Intermediate Shaft) bearings, a common area of concern for this era of flat-six.
There are previous MOTs too where the limited amount of mileage can be tracked.
The factory handbook and service book are also still with the car and the service book has a healthy amount of dealer and specialist stamps.
The Interior

The cockpit of this Boxster still feels fresh and without a marked amount of wear and tear from over 20 years of use.
The seats are free from any tears or burns with only the driving seat showing any traffic with a little wear on the bolster. The carpet is good and not soiled and the dash is free of any obvious damage.
The steering wheel displays minor wear and all the controls retain that Germanic positivity. Although not tested, the owner assures us that all the instrumentation is fully functioning as are all the controls.
The roof raises and lowers without hesitation, just as it should.

Seemingly free from bumps and scrapes, the lovely blue paintwork still has a deep shine to it and has fared well.
A 2015 invoice shows that the car was treated to some front-end paintwork. There is an absence of any further retouching or repairs and the owner confirms that there have been no body repairs undertaken during his ownership in 2019.
The boot lid has just a few minor micro blisters. All exterior trim is intact and the headlights are crystal clear and unmarked.
The alloy wheels have been refurbished recently so are free from any kerb damage. Tyres too are in good condition with unmeasured but apparent good tread depth.
The overall condition of the exterior is seemingly very good for the car’s age.
