The Appeal

To the uninitiated, it was bonkers, but to those who value difference, individuality and sheer Frenchness, the C6, at its launch 21 years ago, represented a direct line right back to the groundbreaking DS. Billed as a serious executive rival to BMW’s M5 and Audi’s A6, albeit with some heavy Gallic charm in the mix, the C6 was nevertheless a hard sell for a company by that time more used to flogging superminis.

Just 1,000 of these innovative and unusual cars were sold in the UK, which makes any survivor well worth seeking out. Particularly when, as here, it makes decent practical sense too, thanks to the punchy yet economical 2.7L twin-turbo 200bhp diesel engine. This "Lignage" spec is typically brimming with kit, including full leather, a 6spd auto box and a digital dashboard.

The car has had just four keepers in its 19 years, the current one since 2022. The service book shows a run of regular attention by Citroen specialists up to 108,399 miles in 2020. It has only covered 3,000 miles in the intervening period. The current MOT underlines the condition - it runs to May 2027 with no advisories.
