This fantastically presented Jensen Interceptor Mk1 has been subject to an extensive 3 year restoration. Longstaff Refinishing, Knaresborough, completed this long restoration just weeks ago and the vehicle is now every bit as good, as when it rolled off the production line in 1969. Finished in Jet Black, it has been the subject of a full bare metal respray. The chrome work has all been re-done, the wheels are brand new deep dish alloy rostyle and really do compliment the car and give it the high end period feel. A complete interior re-trim and new carpets all internal chrome parts have been re-finished. A new speedo has been fitted (new old stock) the existing one has been retained showing the original 51, 000 miles.
Jensen cars only made 7 black Mk1 cars and this car is regarded as the last example of a jet black car with the full stunning red interior.
This stunning example also benefits from an original 1969 Motorola 828 converted with i-phone lead and new rear oval speakers with period style chrome grills. Sold with the original V5 from 1977, this car has not been road used / taxed since 1980 and would be a fantastic addition to any collection or for the Jensen enthusiast. I have located the previous original owner from 1977 and he has confirmed the milage and has provided some photos of the car in his ownership and history. It left the factory and was sold to a Director of an export business before being sold to the second owner who drove it around Devon as a daily driving car. Mechanically a fully rebuilt 6. 3l Chrysler V8 engine with new pistons, reworked head and a new carburettor. New period style power steering pump. Fully serviced gearbox with all new pipes, new bearings and seals. Reconditioned radiator, reconditioned front axel, petrol tank and new twin stainless steel exhaust system. All the wiring front to back is brand new with new callipers, disks and reconditioned suspension. Installed with electric windows and modern fuse box.
