Car number 16 of only 53 identical challenge editions ever built. – Mini’s smallest-ever production run.
This is a very rare car that’s being offered for sale, these cars have a great back story of how they came into production – developed by a passionate team with motorsport experience at the Mini plant in Oxford with a desire to create the ultimate performance road going JCW that’s track-ready right out of the box.
This car has been very well looked after and is one of the best examples around of this iconic car, it spent its first few years after production as a display car at various mini dealerships. The Previous owner was a real MINI enthusiast, the car has never been used on track at all and is completely standard as it left the factory, very well cared for with service history etc.
What sets the Mini apart as the challenge is that this is the ultimate lightweight, driver focused MINI ever produced with all 53 cars are finished in White Silver colour having the signature race stripes and decals around the front and rear bumper area. The Challenge Edition is equipped with a whole list of upgrades and changes made over the standard Jon cooper works model by the Mini factory, including fully adjustable Nitron NTR R1 adjustable coilovers, a Quaife ATB limited-slip differential, 17-inch forged Team Dynamics alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, Mintex brake pads, a carbon-tipped JCW Pro exhaust with a Bluetooth-controlled track-only mode, and adjustment plates at the front and rear for two degrees of negative camber on each axle etc, etc…
The car is easy to live with and drive every day as I have done and is currently showing a combined MPG figure of 45mpg over the last 10, 000 miles average. The way this car drives fantastic, with a lovely smooth 2. 0 petrol engine (part of BMW Eninge family) 6 speed manual gear box, combined with great mini go-kart-like handling, fantastic soundtrack and the signature Challenge looks that really set this car apart from all other MINI’s.
This is a very regrettable sale, I brought the car to keep for life but unfortinatly my circumstances have forced to sell the car to fund a building project.
