Superb example of the VW MK5 Golf GTI. United Grey (LA7T) with 18'' Monza alloys & heated anthracite leather. HPI clear. This car is in excellent condition & has an exceptional service record & MOT history. 11 stamps in the service book. Serviced at VW 4, 706 miles, VW 11, 004 miles, VW 15, 217 miles, VW 19, 634 miles, VW 24, 005 miles, IND. 32, 456 miles, IND. 39, 293 miles, IND. 44, 635 miles, IND. 59, 202 miles, VW specialist 63, 273 miles, major service (inc. plugs). Thermostat & coolant change & HPFP cam follower replacement (preventative maintenance using genuine parts) at 64, 141 miles. Last service (19/ 04/ 23) at 64, 282 miles which included a full cambelt kit & water pump, auxiliary belt & intercooler seals, all genuine VW parts & the correct VW Quantum oil, carried out by a highly respected local VW specialist. New MOT 23/ 05/ 23, no advisories. Alloys refurbished at 63, 500 miles & fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, 4 wheel alignment. In my ownership always serviced using genuine parts & ran on Shell V Power. All MK5 Golfs suffer from rusty front wings, but this car is perfect & I believe they have been replaced in the past. Genuine VW stamped wings, probably via a VW warranty claim. I asked my VW specialist to check that the foam padding, the cause of this problem, had been trimmed back so will not reoccur. Pleasingly it had. Overall the car is in excellent condition, with just a few minor marks that a detail would remove/ improve. Genuine over mats. The black plastics are still black (!), seals & trim are pristine, all glass is original & the car wears VW dealer (Gilbert Lawton) number plates. All factory stickers are present & correct. The interior is excellent also with minimal wear & has a factory fitted upgraded head unit with sat nav. The engine bay is very clean & tidy with no leaks. The plastic engine cover has a small crack but I've just sourced a suitable replacement. The battery cover is there, just had to remove it to connect my charger leads. All handbooks are present in the original leather bound GTI wallet. In addition there is a file with many previous receipts (including another cambelt change at 44, 869 miles), both keys with VW logos intact & the V5C in my name. I've owned the car for three years &, as evidenced by the MOT history, has done minimal mileage. In my ownership the car has been dry stored at all times & sorned for the Winter. Kept under a cover on a solar trickle charger. Overview. This car is cosmetically & mechanically first rate & has impeccable history. It has had considerable recent expenditure to future proof it & requires nothing in the immediate future. The cambelt & waterpump will not require attention for five years, preventative maintenance measures have been carried out (thermostat, HPFP cam follower, aux belt & intercooler seals) & the car has just been serviced & MOT'd, next due 14/ 06/ 24. The air con has also been serviced & blows ice cold. The suspension is tight, the brakes have very little wear & all four tyres have virtually full tread. This car does, of course, drive like the low mileage unabused example it is. The MK5 is a great GTI & a 3 door, manual with low mileage, excellent history, & most importantly, unmodified, is the one to have. If you've never driven a MK5 Golf GTI then you must, as they really do live up to their well deserved reputation! I'm a VW enthusiast & I'm happy to answer any questions about the car. It's a reluctant sale but the car has been barely used in recent years so I've finally decided to let it go. I've priced the car at a realistic £7, 650 but will consider sensible offers.
