Description

Proper Harley Evo with Buell developed frame. FXRS SP, sport SP as has air forks, and twin front discs. Properly sorted over 16 years use.

I hope i am doing the right thing, as, up to now, is only bike i can ride all day without back or leg problems! Have impulse bought a Diavel XS with forwards....... hopefully will not regret! Have done a lot of rallies with this over the years. Has been totally reliable, never let me down, and always started instantly. Has got me out of trouble so many times. Rare Harley in that it stops and goes and handles and runs beautifully. Sounds totally the best V twin on the road..... way better than the Diavel, even with the termignoni exhaust.

- details above

Having owned a lot of bikes...... i mean a LOT of bikes, this is the only bike have ever kept more than a year. Is like riding a vintage 1939 bike , but very quickly. Had it 16 years. When i bought it from an American going back to the States, it already had the Johnny Towers forward controls and Andrews cam. I immediately got a Mikuni 42 carb from the States, and correct manifold adaptor came later when i skilled friend of mine got it to tickover correctly at last, as should, potato job.....

Later came Sportster spoked front wheel, 3 x discs form the States, Fatboy solid rear wheel. Had some slightly wider yokes on, but retained the air forks but with progressive springs and fluid by trial of different grades.

Rear brake could be locked up anytime, but fronts were not nearly up to the speed and handling so fitted black Performance Machine callipers and braided lines. Had to swop out the master cylinder though as was like a block of wood, now has a nice feel.

Clutch was always heavy and could not find an easy Clutchlite for the outer casing lever, so swopped the casing so could get one, plus fitted a Barnet clutch cable. Same gearbox oil as Baker use in theirs.

New VOES switch at same time as had correct manifold for carb.

Spitfire pellets from 2007. I originally have taken the ethanol out of the petrol for all my bikes, but now go 14 miles away in car and fill load of cans with non ethanol Esso Supreme instead.

Have changed the engine oil and filter every 6 months, use 20/ 50 mineral oil.

Have always had Avon Venoms, but went over to the better Cobras when came out. Both tyres are excellent. Guesstimate mileage at about 25k as had a few speedos have tried, and ended up with an all in one does the lot Acewell unit. Have all old MOTs here so have allowed for original miles plus present speedo probably under scoring as never set it up to be perfect as tend to only have a speedo for MOT procedure.

Battery is a big crank, and is spot on. I have a CTEK charger, and lead is fitted for one of them. Chucked two Optimates away.

I do not do polishing. I have just got back from excellent No Bull, or Beer and Bikes at Builth Wells. The bike is mainly alloy, not much chrome. I hate cleaning chrome and watching it peel off. The alloy would come up like chrome if you that way inclined.
I have cleaned it off with Autoglym foam so can see it better. Some frame chips could be touched in i notice, not done it for a couple of years. I have sprayed it in ACF50 and GT85 continuously. My idea of cleaning is wash with the foam, and then spray and wipe with GT85. Bike is in use all year, has been my main bike. Bike i ride of choice, certainly the favourite for all bike meets and rallies.

Come to Leominster station and ride home...... dont worry about distance or weather. This Harley is for riding. Polishing is optional.

Can get pro delivered to door in England and Wales for £120. Check my feedbacks, been on Ebay since 2001, and biker since 1964. Only possible px may be a Ducati Multistrada 1100S Ohlins, would be only bike could take the place of my Fazer FZS1000....
