"Homage to The Captain" A rare opportunity to purchase a stunning Harley Davidson Swedish Style Chopper which has been built to an extremely high standard in the style of the Captain America motorcycle from the Classic movie Easy Rider.
This is a very desirable and unique statement piece which has been created at huge expense. It would make a jaw dropping display item in the right business or domestic setting and/ or could be used as an iconic show bike.
Standing at over nine feet long this motorcycle is an absolute head turner and commands respect from everyone who sees it. The metalflake hardtail frame and deep chrome extended and raked custom front forks are complemented by a gorgeous 80 spoke 21 inch front wheel with brand new tyre, custom disc and matching chrome brake caliper. Raked handlebars are fitted with period Arlen Ness chrome controls, switchgear and matching mirrors. Genuine Harley Davidson forward controls and chrome headlamp are fitted which really set off the frontal aspects of the bike. Top quality Goodrich braided hoses and Domino cables are used throughout. Custom instrumentation and a warning light cluster add nice subtle touches to complete the look.
A set of quality ape hanger bars will be supplied with the bike should the new owner wish to change to this style.
Moving to the power train, the bike is fitted with the highly respected HD Evolution 1340cc engine coupled to a brand new Revtech 5 speed transmission. All the elements of the primary drive are brand new as are the clutch, starter motor, regulator, alternator, drive belt and pulleys. The Ultima Programmable Digital Ignition System and Coil ensures first time starting and reliable performance. A "shorty" S&S carburettor with pear drop air filter and swept back finned exhausts complete the classic look.
The hard tail rear end comprises a stunning 200 section 17 inch deep dish solid chrome rear wheel with a matching chrome brake disc and caliper. A brand new genuine HD D407 tyre has also been fitted.
To complement the Easy Rider theme, a stainless steel sissy bar was designed and fabricated by a specialist machine shop and a simply stunning black leather studded king and queen seat was hand made by Tom Hurley specifically for the bike. Chrome bullet stop and tail lamps are fitted together with an original style pressed metal black and silver number plate.
The highly polished chrome theme continues throughout with the oil tank, braided oil lines, cam cover, oil filter, regulator, tappet blocks, spark plug shelves and head steady all resplendent in gleaming chromium plate.
Perhaps the most iconic part of this motorcycle is the genuine HD sportster petrol tank which has been professionally painted to a very high standard in the Red White and Blue Stars and Stripes of the American Flag.
The bike is fully road legal and has a registration date of 16/ 09/ 1976 making it an historic vehicle. This means it does not require the owner to pay road tax or have it MOT tested annually. The original vehicle frame number and headstock were transferred onto the custom hardtail chopper frame and on completion of the build it was presented for an MOT (which it passed with no advisories) so it could be declared historic and returned to legal road use. I have the V5C registration document in my name.
Overall this is a stunning motorcycle which has been built to the highest quality with no expense spared. It has all new oil and fluids, new gel battery, new Taylor ignition leads and Spark Plugs. As you would expect it starts and drives perfectly and everything works exactly as it should. It has only covered around 100 dry and sunny miles since the build was completed in 2024. Sadly a hand issue means that it is impractical for me to ride the bike and I have made the decision to pass it on to a new owner.
