I have for sale a 2009 3. 0HDI V6 Citroen C5 beautifully presented in Abyss Blue. It’s had 6 previous owners (one a renowned Citroen specialist garage) and full service history, there are plenty of receipts for various work undertaken over the years. The timing belt and water pump have been replaced (a rather labour intensive and expensive job) as well as gearbox oil flushes and various minor repairs to keep it in top shape. All suspension spheres have been re-gassed last year to ensure a comfortable and stable ride - the car covers miles effortlessly. The engine is both smooth and powerful and barely audible once up to speed - not to mention surprisingly economical given the size and performance of the car.
The brakes deliver a calm yet powerful stopping force and the steering is light and direct. The air conditioning blows ice cold even on the hottest days. It has all the toys – power heated seats, satnav, full leather etc. – and everything works apart from the TPMS which had been turned off before I took ownership of the car.
There are a few issues I should mention: There’s a little wheel vibration at speed which I imagine is just a balancing issue. The body work has a few small dents which I’ve tried to capture in the photos, and the lacquer is coming off on some of the wheels. One of which is quite badly kerbed unfortunately. The windscreen has a few chips in but these haven’t gotten any worse in the 2 plus years I’ve owned the car. Inside the front door pulls have some paint missing and the driver’s door hinge is creaky. The rest of the interior is in great condition especially considering the age and millage and the leather upholstery is frequently cleaned and conditioned.
It has been looked after and given very little trouble in the time I’ve owned it and I’m sad to put it up for sale but it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. There aren’t many of these around with the V6 twin turbo engine, especially in such high spec, so likely a future classic.
