Rare early Moto Morini 31/ 2 Double Drum Sport, built in 1974, first registered early 1975, a UK bike.
This is the one collectors really want, one of the best look bikes ever made! With the big 260mm Grimeca Double sided drum brake, Marzocchi suspension, Borrani rims etc, the best of everything.
The engine was rebuilt early in my ownership (3rd owner) by the late Phil Smith, who was the master Morini engine man, with mainly K series internals, that means the later crank, rods and new sport pistons and the later gear selectors, a really strong performing unit.
I’ve owned her for over 30 years having bought it from a friend and used her sparingly, but the time has come for a new home (I’ll still have one Morini left!).
She is no trailer queen but is in good patinaed condition, you can ride and enjoy or easily make her sparkling.
She has a beautifully crafted set of Mauro Gini’s rear-sets for the full Italian Café set-up (original foot-pegs and kickstart will be included).
She has Historic tax class, so MOT and Tax free. I can also include a single bike trailer, if required.
Morini’s have a strong UK Owners Club, and a good spares back-up making them a usable Italian classic.
All the paperwork is in my name, I have the original handbook, I probably have a spare workshop manual too.
