Description

The Double Period F2 Racing Winning, Ex - Hart, Widdows, Bob Gerard Racing

1968 Brabham BT23C Cosworth Formula 2

The second most successful BT23C, behind only the car of Jochen Rindt. One of only three BT23Cs to claim overall victory in period Formula 2 racing.

Driven by Brian Hart and Robin Windows for Bob Gerard Racing during 1969 to claim the two victories; Monza with Hart and Hockenheim with Widdows. The high speed performances also testament to Hart’s emerging skills as builder of Cosworth racing engines.

Having spent a number of years in the USA, BT23C-12 has benefitted from a superb detail-correct bare chassis restoration by Simon Hadfield Motorsport to return it to the 1969 livery from the height of the car’s success.

Unused on track since and remaining fresh, BT23C-12 is accompanied by new FIA HTPs including the high-wing format.

Impressive to behold at standstill, the BT23C’s free revving Cosworth FVA engine strikes a sharp note as it gets put through its paces, adding another dimension to the experience. Option for on track use is plentiful within the HSCC Historic Formula 2 series around the UK and Europe, or of course on private and test days.
