This is my 1973 Audi Coupe S. A rare sight on UK roads -only a handful on the road right now, but it's stunning to look at and
always catches peoples attention.
I've owned this Coupe since November 2010, the previous owner had kept it garaged since he purchased in 1985. The car did need some work to get it back on the road, but it has been kept in my garage ever since. The car has done no more than 500 miles since i've had it.
During Covid there was an issue with the CV joint and an engine mount, which was replaced and an MOT done at the same time, which it passed with no advisories ( The car is MOT/ TAX exempt).
Mechanically the car is great. It had a brand new stainless steel exhaust when it was recommissioned. It starts first time and stops well. It has 62000 miles on the odometer but not sure on how accurate it has been.
The Interior is in VERY good condition. It is black velour with original carpets and whilst the wood trim could do with a varnish and some work on the dash (replacement sold with car). Unlike many Coupe S's you will see the headlining is in TOP condition -no rips or creases.
The exterior is in it's original paint. At one point it had a new front offside wing. And i am told it had the last new stock rear bumper -which is in pristine condition. There are some bumps and dents that need attention which i have not got round to doing since i've had her. The drivers door also has some rusting - and could either be addressed or the spare door i have could be used. So cosmetically the car does need some work.
I did have a coupe prior to this one -it turned out to be rotten underneath - so i scrapped it and kept most of the parts. So i am selling the car with the parts that include:
Engine
2 doors
Rear Windscreen and Side windows with chrome
2 dashboards and 1 centre console
Front Bumper, Rear Bumper
1 Bonnet
2 Front interior disk brakes ( RARE)
and other associated parts
So other than the cosmetic/ respray work on the exterior and some tidying up to do on the interior you could acquire a very rare classic that is only accumulating in value. I fell in love with this cars looks, and thankfully the Audi 100 Coupe Club chairman was able to find me this great example. I have invested over £4000 to recommission and keep her on the road, but sadly i've just not found the time to do the final cosmetic work, due to a competing house project/ s. So it's time to pass her on. The car is very original and comes with the original drivers pack and tool kit -it really is a 1970's capsule.
