For Sale. 2001 Mercedes 320SL, R129. Possibly one of the latest registered R129 in the UK. Full late model UK specification in a colour unusual for an SL, more commonly seen on CL or CLK – which is Chalcedon/ Quartz Blue (MB colour code 347). Interior is grey leather (Code 238). Electrically adjustable/ heated front seats, electric steering column, glass panoramic roof with sun shades and winch lifting frame, blue electric soft top with grey headlining, Xenon headlights, electric folding mirrors, MB mud flaps, fully functioning A/ C, 17” alloys with Michelin Primary HP tyres. Factory fitted rear seats.
Work carried out within the last 2000 miles; new front wishbones, shock absorbers, top mounts, anti-roll bar, gearbox service with new gearbox sump and cooling pipes, new front brake discs/ pads, rear brake flexi hoses. The car also has had a complete respray, replacement front wings with original MB panels at a cost of over £3000 (Photos available if required). It has been ceramic coated which provides great protection and an extremely high gloss finish, new battery, oil/ fuel filters changed + plug/ leads replaced as part of the Mercedes "B" servicing schedule. Currently there is a flip out screen unit installed, sat nav, Bluetooth, phone connection and media player with reversing camera. I have the original MB Audio 30 single CD/ Rdio player although the CD is inoperable. New grey ribbed over mats have been recently fitted. Also a modern AMG front grille is fitted. Original available. The previous owner also fitted front LED daytime running lights with sweeping indicators. Not to the liking of the last MOT tester who raised an advisory for slow cancellation!! Original bezels available.
Wind deflector, boot cover, jack, MB tool roll, handbooks, manuals and service docs are present contained within the original leather wallet. A fitted indoor cover is also provided. The blue soft top has had a couple of small (1") repairs near the rear window at sometime but these are watertight and blend OK. Two remote keys and the important black and red alarm/ immobiliser fobs
Last A service and MOT 22/ 05/ 23. As mentioned two advisories; front led indictors slow to switch off!! Brake Pipes covered in “Grease or other material” Cleaned again and protective coating applied.
More information/ pictures available if required. One of the last R129's. An unusual colour and a joy to drive. Compared to other R129's I've owned I consider that the suspension has been uprated to AMG specification during it's extensive restoration. The standard of respray during restoration is outstanding, together with the ceramic treatment really enhances the colour. Including in the sale are all the parts removed by the previous owner, a winch lifting frame.
