This beautiful, inspired, quintessentially British car, design by the Pembleton Motor Company instantly transports you to the 1930s heydays of open-top sports cars dancing their way down country lanes.
Built in 2012, with just one owner this two-seater, front-wheel drive pleasure-car is presented in polished aluminium bodywork, making it a stand-out eyecatcher as the sunlight glints off its finely crafted lines and multi-spoke wheels. It also makes plenty of noise (for those that don’t see it first) from the 602cc 2CV engine with twin Dellorto carbs and 5-speed manual gearbox, which provides a responsive drive on this vehicle that weighs only c. 400kg.
The low ride height accentuates the speed and makes it the kind of drive that puts a smile on your face and ushers a shout of woo-hoo!, whilst its air suspension and low centre of gravity provide a comfortable and assured ride. The stylish Brooklands aeroscreens top-off the car with a sporting flourish as it navigates twisty lanes with lovely agility.
Owing to our decision to emigrate someone else will sadly become the owner of this characterful, distinctive boy’s toy.
The car is recently MoTd and has no known mechanical defects. Paintwork, exterior and overall condition
The car has a tubular steel chassis with an aluminium body which is unpainted and easily maintained. The spare tyre mounted on the tail and the wire wheels add aesthetically pleasing touches, sympathetic with the era.
Interior condition and accessories
The interior has attractive faux leather panelling, matching colour seats and some nice touches such as the bespoke strung steering wheel. The seats fold forward to reveal a decent stowage space.
Mechanics and previous work
The 602cc engine is air cooled and has c66, 200 miles on it. It has been 100% reliable (when do you ever see a broken down 2CV?) and is well supported in terms of the availability of spare parts should they ever be needed. It has been exceptionally cheap to maintain over the past 12 years.
