The bike was imported to UK from Australia in 2008 and stored till 2022.
I purchased the bike in April 2022 and started the restoration.
Restoration was required as the storage facility was changed and was not suitable for bike. Many new parts were used on the restoration these included new fork staunchions +seals, master cylinder +brake callipers resealed, new rear brake shoes and disc pads, steering head yoke brgs, new hel brake line, neutral switch, oil pressure switch, l/ hand handle bar switch, mirrors, gaiter +seal clutch rod, spark intensifier unit, new battery Bike has also had full re spray and set of Bridgestone tyres and tubes. Full service carried out plugs oils filters carbs overhauled, tank cleaned and sealed internaly with methanol proof sealant. All bulbs have been renewed, seat recovered. The bike has Kehan stainless silencers, Koni dial a ride suspension units. The bike has been ridden 500 mls since rebuilt and runs really well handling is very crisp and precise and is great fun on the twisty country roads in East Lothian alternatively she lives happily on the big roads cruising at 70 to 80 mph 2 up.
This will be a great bike for someone looking for a smaller Classic BMW flat twin with good looks, performance and reliability.

Bike is tax and mot exempt but will have 1 years mot when sold. I initially bought the bike I had always liked the look of the R 65 and found this one badly needing restored so the deal was done and the bike was brought back to the workshop. After an interesting year long rebuild she was ready to roll. She went really well handling was great and the engine was free reving so unlike my R 60 my first flat twin beemer which I still own. I find the R 65 a very endearing and easy to ride wee bike. Having ridden over 500mls on her my intention was to keep her but I can’t do right by my other 3 bikes with 4 in the shed there’s just no room too move so regretably I am selling her sure someone will appreciate her and be able to ride her regularly as she requires.
