1979 Ford Escort MK2 1. 3 GL 4 door LHD french registered with genuine 34, 000 kms. Totally corrosion free from the Cognac area of SW France. 1 former keeper who always kept the car inside his barn. He passed away in 2020 and as with most people in this region gave the original dealer the car back to sell. It was then bought by an English collector who decided he didn’t like the original colour(beige to match the trim) and did a full back to bare metal re spray in what looks like a modern gun metal grey( I don’t know why either). It has a control technique until 2025 which is the french mot. Everything works as I should , all the brakes are free working handbrake all electrics ok engine purrs and gearbox is fine. The clutch bites a little high but am thinking this is still the genuine part. It has a tow bar fitted with a detachable ball and for some reason a cherry bomb rear exhaust box. Again I don’t know why, but I did source a genuine old new stock original exhaust which I will include. The interior has had period velour seats covers on as protection but the seats themselves are like now. No wear and tear as you would expect from the kms. This is a little gem and in amazing condition for the year. Sadly the only paperwork that comes with the car is the registration document and the last 2 control technique showing slight increase in kms. Somewhere between the original french owners and the English collector the service history has gone astray. Car located SW France for viewing and transport to anywhere in Europe is possible. A genuine little gem from the late 70s in amazing corrosion free state. Engine runs like a drea.
