THE APPEAL
Following on from the C4, Audi's B5 S4 was released in 1997 with production running for only 4 years. The B5 S4 would offer various improvements over its predecessor and would be the first S4 to offer the 2. 7L twin turbo V6 engine, one that has since become loved by many. The engine is impressive in part due its total of 30 valves, that’s 5 valves per cylinder - a lot even by today’s standards!
The parallel water-cooled BorgWarner turbo chargers help extract over 260 bhp from this relatively small capacity engine. Suspension and brakes weren't skimped on either, independent suspension on all 4 corners give competent handling. Stopping power is provided by ventilated 32cm discs up front with 25cm discs at the rear. Another benefit of the B5 S4 is Audi's driver assistance systems, ABS as well as ESP are welcome additions, especially in European winters. Aimed at upsetting the BMW dominated market at the time of release, the B5 S4 really showed Audi's competition what they were capable of!
THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

* Black leather interior in fair to very good condition
* Leather seats remains in good condition overall given the age and mileage with the exception of the driver's seat side bolster, showing some tears to the leather
* Gorgeous blue weaved carbon fibre trim remains in excellent condition
* Rear leather seats do have some light marking possibly from paint, a thorough valet / detail may remedy this
* Dashboard and plastics remain in very good condition throughout, steering wheel showing some signs of use but remains in good condition
* Floor mats present throughout in fair to good condition with a burn mark present on the rear offside matt
* All door cards present and intact, slight damage to rear offside speaker cover
* Electronic sunroof as standard from new, functions as expected
* Audi stereo head unit present but not functioning
* Boot in fair condition with parcel shelf, matching full size spare wheel alloy, jack and tool kit present, spare tyre needs replacing
* Phatnoise digital media player mounted in the boot, unknown whether functions or not but has left some marks on the boot mat
* Headlining present and secure with some light marking throughout
THE EXTERIOR
* Gorgeous Imola Yellow paintwork remains in excellent condition overall
* Some small paint chips and scratches present but only noticeable when inspecting closely
* Previous repair work to offside is barely noticeable, very slight colour difference in paintwork, only noticeable when inspecting closely
* Current owner has fitted 18inch Audi Ronal Avus alloys in anthracite grey, giving for a lovely aesthetic, all alloys remain in excellent condition
* Non-matching tyres with good tread
* Badges, brightwork and glass in very good condition overall, a small chip on front windscreen appears to have been previously repaired
* Windscreen seal on both top corners has started to fail and may need attention in the future
* Desirable aluminium wing mirrors remain in good condition with some small scuffs present
* Roof and sunroof both remain in very good condition, sun roof functions as expected and sits flush when closed
* Roof rack rails fitted and remain in good condition
* Fog lamps and washer jets for desirable Xenon headlights fitted as standard
THE MECHANICS
