Hello and
Welcome, this particular Saab Car has an interesting background. I actually worked with Saab Automobile Sweden for oveer 10yrs in the International, Diplomatic & Military Tax Free Sales Direct Factory Program. I was hired by the Executive VP Dr Hans Halbach (ex VP Porsche Stuttgart ) in 92 on a Consultancy basis to head a Middle East task force to focus on Post War Kuwait, an incredible challenge after hostilities ceased.
So what, you may say, well I was with Dr. Hans Halbach when he presented the Swedich Ambassidor (Kuwait) with the beautiful artist impressions for the new 900 New Generation Convertible, and it was the same exact impression of the Car you see here with the same exact rear Spoiler (you don't see many of these spoilers).
That meeting and those artist impressions stayed in my mind for many years and completely by accident I found this actual Car in 2015, I simply just had to buy it because I was so involved in the 900NG program in the early days..
In my humble opinion the 2. 3ltr Non Turbo engine is the very best engine Saab built, it's bullet proof, delivers the Torque and with a 5 speed manual transmission it's an absolute joy to Drive. Economy wise I've actually achieved 40mpg, yes I am NOT joking.
So simply, I'm just setting the stage of WHY I undertook so much work on this actual Car.
So to start at the beginning, there was and still is NO Rust in this vehicle and the Car comes with and has always had a Car Cover since I purchased the Car in 2015 and here's a list of the work to date:

The Car has been Waxoiled over the years
If you care to check the MOT background on this Car you can witness I've put almost no mileage on this Car, I've simply enjoyed the experience and in some small way it's been a dedication to all those involved with the Saab 900 New Generation program around the world at that time. I was in Sweden when the 900NG was launched I personally Test drove every model except the 900NG converible (because it was not yet ready) so I hope you will get a feel behind the work I undertook and my motivation to do the work to the highest possible standards with the best parts possible.
So, if I was to be critical what are the bad points on this particular Car:
Well, simply Monty Carlo Yellow is a fantastic colour but the actual paint does oxidize, so the Car would benfit from a good compound polishing, and there are some paint chips on the rear and front composite Bumpers that could do with being sorted.
There has been a paint repair on the Driver's side lower door to rear heel arch I've tried to take photos in a way to help you see.
The Mohair hood has a few scuffs but it's still totally water proof. The Car is 26yrs old so its fair to expect some battle scars, what the Car has NOT had is a cheap paint job to tart it up for this Sale, this is a totally genuine Car that's been put back to original condition by somebody who actually worked for Saab Automobile Sweden when the Car was being developed.
Please note: The Private plate is NOT included in the sale but the original plate will be refitted ( R155 BVV ).
Also there are some spares with the car, a electric Fan assembly & a key ABS control unit (these are getting hard to find and it's handy to have one up your sleeve and a spare Coolant Tank & sensor.
The Car drives wonderfully as it should, the steering & handling is spot on. We did at one point get an ABS fault light on the dash but it was commonly felt this was due to the vehicle standing.
So, in closing WHY is the Car now up for Sale, well I'm now 68 and not as mobile as I was. This Car is built to enjoy Driving it's time to hand over to somebody who will enjoy and look after what is an extrordinary story. This 1997 Saab 900 NG Convertible has just passed it's most recent MOT (08. 06. 2023) with NO advisories whatsoever and I hope this demonstrates the attention to detail this Car has been given. Saab's have always been a Driver's Car and this particular Car will not dissapoint the new Owner.
