40th Anniversary Special Edition SL320 straight 6 - 1998 R reg FSH Mercedes to 82k then independent now on 127k
1 of 150 made UK market only, This is a 40th Anniversary Special Edition SL320, It has unique designo paint Vario Metallic Blue/ Green with matching blue soft top, it came with special Evo alloys (now 17" Sador wheels) and beautiful designo grey leather, Special Edition insignia on door entry strips and centre console, wood interior package on the doors steering wheel and center console, 2x electric memory seats, electric adjustable steering column and Xenon headlamps on top of the standard SL320 spec, It cost £66, 630 on the road back in 1998
About the car in its current condition
The car hasn't been driven since 2016 due to a family bereavement and ill health. To help sell the car we have fitted 4 good Continental Sport Contact 5 tyres all have 4 to 5mm correctly balanced to the genuine 17" Mercedes Sador wheels that were on the car back 2007 when we bought it, We bought a new Drivetec Heavy duty battery with 3 year warranty £90 and a good used alternator off Ebay £87, a new fuel pump and filter was also fitted £50, We checked the oil level and the condition of it and it looked like new, The engine itself has had a small amount of oil put into each cylinder via the spark plug hole to lube the rings etc then it was turned by hand, The tank had 10 litres of fresh fuel was put in, at first the car would not start we now know that was because of the key! we tried with the spare key and the car started right up, it runs and idles really well and sounds nice and smooth, it drives back and forward no problem I did try to take it around the block but it started leaking power steering fluid so I immediately pulled back on my driveway. Also the bonnet catches need attention.
Paintwork and overall exterior condition
The car has been cleaned, clay barred and polished with autoglym, it does have the very common corrosion on the front wings, other small patches on the car including the hard roof which are not that bad (galvanic corrosion), a little on the rear arch and around the electric aerial, some lacquer has peeled on the bonnet, a key scratch down the rear quarter on the passenger side, it does also have some stone chips small scratches and a few little dints and bumps that would expect on a 25 year old car but still looks good in the sun
Interior condition
The interior is in very good conditon overall, The drivers seat does have a hole and shows other signs of wear (see pictures) The rear view mirror is broken, The roof lining on the hard top needs attention, The larger of the 2 slide top cupboards in the center console has a problem if its opened too far or too hard it comes off its rail and the inside part is missing. The drivers side door panel needs attention its loose, the grey triangle at the top of the door has 2 broken clips, The car has a pioneer cd player 4x 50w, I also have the original Mercedes tapedeck headunit with code and the cd changer is still in the boot, The window switch on the drivers side has push into the center console which should be an easy fix. The windscreen does have a small crack very low down its not that noticeable im just being honest, its on the drivers side and it also has 1 or 2 very small stone chips.
The Roof
The Hardtop has been removed to try and fix the headlining and to check the fabric roof is working, We tried to open the fabric roof but it appears we have a hydraulic leak from the passenger side A pillar near the sun visor. We still believe the blue fabric roof to be in good conditon, it was fully working the last time it was used in 2016, The car also comes with a wind deflector worth around £100

According to Ebay prices a bonnet is £500+ an engine £750 upto £2000 if complete, a gearbox £350+ a diff £300+ engine wiring harness £450! wheels and tyres £1000+ interior £1000+ steering wheel and airbag £500+ hard top roof £450+ central locking pump £295! Xenon headlights £600+ each!!! plus hundreds of other bits all worth £££, a tidy example of the same car sold recently on here for £10995... obviously this isnt worth that much but its certainly is worth more than a regular sl320 in the same condition isnt it? because it is 1 of 150 and that paint colour is fantastic

It comes with a large folder full of paperwork, The car has full main dealer history to 82k and independent & specialists after that with thousands of pounds worth of invoices, 2 key alarm fobs (alarm + central locking work) 16" spare wheel with good Dunlop tyre worth £299 on ebay, a wind deflector £100 and original Mercedes sales brochure worth £45, a jack / some tools and a locking wheel nut key,
