Description
1988 BMW E30 325IX 4X4 LHD Auto
A very rare car which has been imported over from Japan earlier this year.
Its a 325IX 4X4 and these were built in LHD only, aside from a few approved RHD conversion back in the day.
Coming from Japan means its been highly maintained, but doesn't suffer from the usual rust or rot problems on a vehicle you'll find here in the UK.
Its a real unicorn of car with HUGE spec including air con, X4 electric windows, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, heated seats, working aerial on the CD player, onboard computer, working clock computer which does the outside temp etc.
Its still in KM both millage and speed and its done approx 85, 000 miles which is backed up with the huge selection of BMW Japan main dealer service history and other paperwork! Including the belts being changed around 10, 000KM ago!
It looks like the last owner in Japan had it since 1998.
The car is in excellent condition, as you can see from it up on the ramp there is no rust, the trunk floor is clean, engine bay, skuttle etc.
The car is on some pretty rare WORK alloys (I don't have the original wheels) but if you fancied putting the vehicle back stock these alloys are worth £1500+ to someone.
Its nice to see one of these with a un-cracked dash, original BMW floor mats, and just one thats in such good condition! Even the tool kit and genuine BMW bottle top wheel are in the trunk.
When it was in the garage it had a compression test which every cylinder was perfect / spot on.
In the last month its had a new battery, new plug leads, service, new dizzy, new rotor arm, new hoses, new front badge, new exhaust rubbers, new plugs and just anything that would improve the quality of the vehicle and most of those parts were purchased from BMW Cardiff so no expense spared.
It has upgraded front headlamps and rear lights (again don't have the original)
Bad points - The car has recently also had new tappets and will need readjusting around 300 miles in the future as she does sound a little tappety.
The temp gauge sensor needs replacing and there are a couple of age related marks and a couple of minor bubbles on the left rear arch but in a whole, this is probably one of the cleanest and most solid shells you will find.
It drives very strong, pulls very well and surprises a lot of people.
There are only a handful of these IX 4X4 models registered in the UK and its been suggested due to how much of a unicorn spec this one is and the condition it could potentially be a one of a kind and speaking to classic BMW clubs these are rarer than the 325i sport tech coupes and as a value somewhere around 20-25K.
Genuine interest only and please understand this is a very rare E30 being the IX and likely not something you'll find very often.
MOT April 2024.
Please understand this car is 35 years old and not 100% perfect, but with a couple of things this would be a perfect car to own and a sure investment. This is also why I'm pricing it cheaper to allow making it 100% perfect. There is only a handful of IX 4X4 models registered in the UK and due to its spec this really might be one of a kind.
It’s backed up with a huge amount of main dealer BMW Japanese Service history which is rare to find.
