For sale is my 1979 Mazda RX7 Series 1. Original U. K. car with 5 owners (including myself) from new and partial history. It is my understanding the original owner of this car sold it around 2015/ 16. And sometime around 2017/ 2018 the car was given an exterior refresh/ respray. As a result the car presents in exceptional condition. There can’t be many original examples left like this in the U. K. possibly even the world now. Mileage is low (circa 36000) as the car spent a significant time off the road during the 90s and 00s. In 2022, under my ownership, the car was given a full service and health check by RX7 specialist Super7Autos. It was also compression tested at the same time with strong results. Unfortunately I have too many cars now and not enough storage. This car is too nice to just be dry stored for years and deserves an owner that can make use of it.
The car itself drives very well. The only minor issue I can think of is that the viscous fan seems to be on all the time which is a common issue with these. Most people convert to electric fans but I couldn’t bring myself to put an additional switch inside the car. The engine bay has been treated to a detail and many of the brackets look to have been refreshed, cleaned and coated. And the bolts have been zinc plated so the engine bay really does look like one from a much newer car.
Interior presents exceptionally well. There is an aftermarket gear knob bearing the name Trevor, presumably fitted by the original owner (whose name was Trevor). Everything inside works as it should and is original as the day it left the factory.
Exterior wise, the resprayed paint work is in excellent condition. There is no rust to be found anywhere and the car can viewed on a ramp if needs be to show this. The car sits on four brand new Yokohama Advan tyres and the original 13inch waffle alloy wheels.
The car is now MOT and Tax Exempt in the U. K. and has been since 2019.
