The Appeal
Like the old Defender was for Land Rover or the Wrangler is for Jeep, the Geländewagen is the function-first anchor for the credibility of Mercedes-Benz’s various other 4x4 SUVs. The ‘proper’ one, if you like. Derived from a military vehicle and no less tough underneath as decades and iterations have rolled on, the G-Wagen has had luxury and performance levels worthy of modern-day Mercedes crammed into its resolutely rectilinear body-on-frame structure to give a blend of indomitable off-road ability with a decent level of on-road civility. As a result, they are just as popular in Los Angeles as they are in the wilderness. With the exterior design having changed so little over the years, this rare 1996 G320 (3. 2 M104) could be a decade newer than it is for all the average onlooker can tell from outside – but it’s much more affordable than a new one.
The History and Paperwork

The Interior
* Drivers door sill and boot slight scuff very minor original useable / driver plastic kick plate cracked see photo again very minor.

* Blaupunkt stereo premium sound system built in Bluetooth for music and hands free also a pioneer subwoofer professionally installed in the boot this can be taken off if not required

* Original Mercedes Black nappa leather interior whilst the blue leather/ blue stitching was professionally re-trimmed in 2020 looks magnificent, no rips or tears
* 7 seater registered
* Original factory fold-out rear seats in the boot side-facing seats can fold out to take a pair of additional passengers for short journeys. Their surroundings are just as tidy as the rest of the cabin, suggesting that this is one pampered G-Wagen.
* The steering wheel and the wood veneer trim has also lost none of its colour or lustre.
The Exterior
* Azurite Blue so rare Paintwork in good condition never been resprayed everything original. No dents on body all outstanding and rare condition for a 1996 G

The rich and rare, Azurite Blue paintwork adds a tasteful sheen of class to the utilitarian form it clads, aided by clear indicator lenses, the 20” genuine AMG polished cut smoked chrome alloy wheels are in fair condition, have no spacers and are kept original.??There are only minor details letting the side down; central locking and the dash lights work temperamental. The puddle lights would also need repair or replacement.

It seems that then this G-Wagen has been well kept and the most important jobs include regular engine service, gearbox and differentials service, brand new wiring looms and a brand new entire exhaust system starting after the down pipes includes a new original Bosch oxygen sensor and 2 new Magnaflow catalytic converters, all professionally installed by a well known company invoices all present, these essential underpinnings of the car are in a condition that by all rights should serve the new owner well for many years to come.
Summary
The G-Wagen marries capability with class like few other vehicles, and whilst this G320 does look almost like a AMG cartoon character, it is more suitable for everyday use across any terrain in any weather. It is fundamentally ready to go and in fantastic cosmetic condition already. A caring owner could enjoy a long life with this ex-Japan G.
