With some regrets I must list my W140 S500 LWB. I purchased the car in February 2021 and have done just over 2000 miles in that time (currently on 132850) . The car isn’t perfect by any means but is a good useable example. The main bad points are as follows: it is in need of a service (last done in april last year, and good service history prior to this); the parking sensors do not work (though I have had it plugged in and it appears that only one sensor is inoperative); the drivers side rear window does not work; the rear passenger seat heater will not switch off and the paintwork is fairly poor. Some of the better points: it is a long wheel base variant with electronically adjustable and heated rear seats; it has soft close doors and boot; it has a sunroof; it had a new genuine Mercedes battery earlier this year; I had rust cut out, treated and painted on both rear arches and the boot lock panel and a new drivers side front wing painted and fitted in January (cost me £1740), I had a good second hand power steering pump fitted and a brand new gearbox sump fitted (both advisories on last years MOT); the current MOT runs to May next year and passed with no advisories. It is in a fairly rare colour (emerald black) and is reasonably well specced. It sits on CL55 AMG alloys which were on the car when I purchased it and don’t look terrible to my eyes, though I do have a set of eltanins which may be available by separate negotiation (included with the car are a set of W140 6 hole alloys in need of new tyres and a refurb). The car sports an S600 grille, I would have rather had an original, but this was all I could find locally to replace the hideous aftermarket item that was on the car when I purchased it. I will be sad to see it go, but I simply do not get the opportunity to use it as it should be and I am struggling to find the time to carry out the work it needs to be an A1 example. I am looking for offers around £6750, though I am not really sure what the market is currently like for 140s and am willing to listen to offers. It has had 7 keepers prior to myself, with at least one of them also being in the owners club. I am based in St. Helens in the North West of England.
