For sale is my wife?s early R53 Cooper S.
This is a completely original, very low mileage example of what is fast becoming a collectible car.
We bought 18 months ago as an occasional use second car that would be a bit of fun and be a potential investment but it probably needs to go now as my wife is pregnant so we need a more practical second car for when I?m away with work in the other.
Spec wise this car must have had some expensive options ticked back in 2002 and has options that don?t often come up in the market -
? Full leather - condition good
? Climate control - incredibly working and blowing cold
? Panoramic roof
The car drives very well and is mechanically in great shape - it had a lot of money spent on it on 2021 prior to our ownership at Bavarian Moderne Klassiker, a reputable mini specialist and has since been maintained by another reputable German car specialist local to us.
Service history - full history and assorted old invoices and MOTs.
All original keys present. 2 working remote keys and one master key.
MOT until October 2024 and freshly serviced 5/ 10/ 23
Bodywork - the car is in good condition for a 21 year old car but it is not concurs. It washes up very well but please don?t expect perfection. Rear bumper is the worst part as it is quite scratched. Wheels have been previously refurbed and not brilliantly. If you are a perfectionist you will likely want them redoing at some point. It is however rust free and the chassis is also completely solid. It has been garaged with us for the last 18 months.
One negative is the NS window does not currently go down - this is recent as I only noticed when washing for sale photos - I suspect regulator which is an easy fix but just don?t have the time to strip it down.
The plan was for us to keep this car long term but circumstances change. I hope this is a very honest description of what is a good and straight little car, which will bring somebody plenty of fun and be a sound investment.
