The bike was imported in 2005 from Germany and was restored to a very high standard by the previous owner's father around 2009/ 10. The bike underwent a full mechanical restoration with a mountain of invoices from well renowned suppliers Motorworks and Moto-Bins. The bike has been repainted a striking red/ wine colour which really sets it off. This is a BMW colour for other R models of the period.
The bike looks like new and definitely belies its 28 years as can be seen from the images,

Last MOT from July 2023 with one advisory ( Steering linkage ball joint worn, but not excessively"). This was addressed a week after the MOT by the testing garage as I wanted the bike to be 100% sorted and ready to go with no known issues. Receipts for this work are included in the extensive paperwork file.

New rear tyre fitted prior to last MOT. (Michelin Anakee tubeless). The front tyre is also tubeless so good for adventure riding and tyre repairs in the middle of nowhere when you don't want to be removing wheels and fitting or repairing an inner tube.

The bike comes with a pair of lockable metal panniers with keys and a whole host of spares (including 2 service kits) as can be seen in images. A spare high and clear screen is also included.

Mileage 76000 km which is 47000 miles.

Two ignition keys

Tool roll.

Double USB port with on/ off switch to avoid battery drain.

Heated grips

Additional high quality (and expensive) "Rigid" LED spotlights fitted.

Bike available to view near Bishops Stortford.

I am only selling as I have a long term knee injury and I wanted a smaller and lighter adventure bike which if I dropped it in the middle of nowhere I could lift it without any assistance.

The BMW R100 GS Paris Dakar is a fantastic piece of German engineering. Due to its age it is also a high quality bike which doesn't show the signs of age and deterioration that the more recent BMW adventure bikes suffer from. If you have ever owned a BMW R1150 gs adv you will know what I am talking about!
This bike stands out from the crowd and could be mistaken for a bike that is awaiting its first MOT.
Solid. Quality. Reliable. Bullet proof. Go anywhere (and get you home). This is the Swiss army knife of adventure bikes.
