1927 AJS H7 * Big Port.
Please note I am by no means an expert on these vintage machines, and this description is based on the information I was given by the chap who I brought it from.
He was entrusted by the late owners wife to use for club runs and Banbury runs.
Please refer to the following engine and frame numbers so those more knowledgeable than me can do their own research.

This information in this advert is based on the late owner's description and I cannot either confirm or refute it, though I have no reason to doubt it's authenticity, as the late owner was a prominent VMCC member for many years.
This chap I brought the bike from, a year or so ago, was allowed to used the bike by its owner as his failing health prevented it's use.
He went on to do three Banbury Runs in 2017, 2018 and 2019, finishing without drama each time and obtaining a Silver Award in 2019.
The machine then remained on loan to him from the wife of the late owner and he continued to use it occasionally on section runs, but he used it less and less and it was agreed that it should be sold.
This is when I brought the bike but it has stood in the garage for the last year without me having any time at all to use it.
So it is with reluctance I finally accept that it has to go to someone who will use and enjoy it.
The machine is, I believe, complete and original in every way, still has the acetylene lighting set, which I wouldn't dare attempt to use, and starts and runs as I believe it should. I am not a vintage machine expert, but it seems very sprightly to me and there is hopefully a video attached showing it running.
It has covered many miles with the previous owner, including, on several occasions. The VMCC South Lakes Runs, The Pennine Way Run, The Scarborough Weekends, as well as weekly section runs.
The previous owners advert read "I have had to do little but maintain it since I have had it and, apart from an occasionally recalcitrant gearchange, which no doubt is due to my ineptitude, it has been very reliable, only stopping once, mid Banbury Run,
when the points closed up, soon remedied."
I am not desperate to sell at all, so no silly offers, please, I think most will know the value of these machines, it will only increase in value
especially one as complete and original as this.
I would be very interested in part exchange for something interesting, (ideally a pre-war car, but open to all suggestions).

Based on the company’s successful racing machines, the AJS 350cc overhead valve ‘big port’ first appeared in 1922 and remained popular for the rest of the decade, many seeing use in club racing.
