1949 Sunbeam S8. Classic British Motorcycle.
Classic 489cc OHC in-line twin with shaft drive.
Original transferable registration number.
Engine and frame number combination as it left the factory.
Rebuilt by a previous owner between 2004 and 2010.
Work included: crank regrind, new big end shells, new front and rear main bearings, new valves, new clutch, reconditioned speedometer, reconditioned dynamo, rebuilt wheels, new handlebars, new wiring harness, new cables, new bearings for gearbox, rebuilt clutch pushrod & clutch race, new tank badges, rear drive thrust bearing, timing chain, engine, gearbox and rear drive oil seals – plus much more.

All original tinware – no fibreglass replicas.
Smart appearance but not concours. Paintwork has a few chips and imperfections. Chrome mostly excellent but some imperfections.
During my ownership I have added new tyres, a replacement carburettor from Stewart Engineering and a new Cyclon battery.
Starts very easily, has a nice, slow, steady tickover and revs freely with no hesitation. Dynamo charging.
I have owned the bike for 5 years and have ridden it for about 700 miles.
