In 1972, the English Robert Jankel started the retro brand Panther. This small English car brand would focus on exclusive sports cars with a penchant for the pre-war car style. One of Panther's most famous creations was the Lima, which was presented in 1976. With a light (800kg) plastic body in combination with a Vauxhall 2. 3 liter 4 cylinder, it was a smooth ride. The Lima lasted until 1982, when it was succeeded by the Panther Kallista.
This specific Panther Lima Series 1 was delivered to its first owner in Great Britain in 1978. In 2009 the car moved to Germany and was restored in 2011. The carriage has been removed from the chassis and both have been completely overhauled. The 2. 3 liter Vauxhall engine has also been overhauled and rebuilt. A larger cylinder head with larger valves, a sharper camshaft, a sports exhaust and double Dellorto carburettors have been installed. All this is good for about 150 to 160 hp instead of the standard 115 hp that the car is supposed to have. Everything is described in the folder that comes with the car!
The car is in good condition. The paintwork is neat and the car is rust-free! The car drives well and is an experience to drive. The simple roof is also very neat and should be seen as an emergency roof.
