1975 Honda CB250 / CB350 K4 Project for restoration .
Good solid project for restoration
Recently rebuilt by previous owner in the style of a café racer, bike still needs finishing off or restoring back to original. Good basis for restoration as the changes made from stock can all be reversed.
Bike runs, Brakes work , Electrics all work and were rewired by previous owner, but it does have a few issues….
Petrol tank has had a new bottom welded in , its then been sealed , unfortunately this sealant hasn’t taken so this will need addressing.
Engine , has a oil leak , both right and left engine covers have been off during the previous rebuild. Some new parts have been fitted. Notably on the stater motor clutch springs and rollers that engage the starter motor . these take a while to engage , could be because there new, the wrong part or poorly fitted. Kick starter spring was also replaced, the kick starter shaft is rotating slowly when engine runs which is why the kick starter lever is not fitted.
Both these problems need sorting, there may be other issues I’m unaware of , it is after all a fifty year old bike.
Bike is originally a CB250K4 then is been fitted with CB350K4 engine , a common mod back in the day (both frame and engine numbers match log book) . The CB350 is almost identical to the CB250, sharing the same stroke of 50. 6 mm, but bored out from 54 to 66 mm . Gearbox ratios are the same too, although the final drive ratio of the 350 is higher giving a very slightly higher top speed without detracting anything from the acceleration. Frame, forks brakes etc all identical.
